It’s a must-have! And Watchdogs are great. I have the Progressive Industries EMS, but the Bluetooth feature on that Watchdog is a nice feature. I also prefer the hardwired version as opposed to the portable version. One less thing to do (and forget) during setup and it’s way less likely to be stolen.
A faulty or stuck check valve will cause both of your issues. If the check valve fails, water can flow backward into the freshwater tank. This backflow reduces the pressure in the water lines, prompting the water pump to turn on to compensate for the lost pressure, thus the constant cycling. Clean or replace it, and you should be good to go!

Hey Tim, to clean corrosion off an RV battery, start by turning off the engine and disconnecting the battery cables, starting with the negative terminal. Wear gloves and safety glasses. Mix a solution of baking soda and water, using about a tablespoon of baking soda per cup of water. Dip a toothbrush or small wire brush into the solution and scrub the corroded areas thoroughly. Once the corrosion is removed, rinse the battery with clean water and dry it with a clean cloth. Reconnect the battery cables, starting with the positive terminal, and make sure they are securely tightened.
Prevention is key with flooded lead-acid batteries. Regularly inspect and clean the batteries. After cleaning, apply a thin layer of commercial battery terminal protectant to the terminals to create a barrier against moisture and corrosive substances. You can also install water miser battery caps, which are designed to reduce water loss and minimize acid fumes that can lead to corrosion.

I use a Camco TastePure connected to the hose running into my fresh water tank so nasty water doesn’t pollute it. I also have a filter on my kitchen sink faucet.
+1 for vacuuming them up. And I’d add that prevention is key here. Don’t leave the outside doors open, make sure all seals are intact, screens don’t have holes, reduce outdoor lighting, etc.
Drive the speed you’re comfortable at, but try not to go under the posted minimum. Most people find around 65 to be the sweet spot, but it depends on the driver, the rig, weather conditions, whether you are towing a vehicle, etc.

Hey Tim, I always recommend consulting the owner’s manual to see what specific instructions the manufacturer has for their filter and to determine whether it’s a one-time-use or washable filter. If you can’t find your owner’s manual, you can usually search for it on Bing.
That said, if it is a washable filter, you would typically just remove the vent cover from your AC unit, remove the filter, and vacuum it clean, being careful not to damage it.
