Two RV Buyers Won More Than $2 Million. They’re Still Trying to Collect.

Two Colorado families took Lazydays to court over RVs they say had serious, undisclosed problems. Both won default judgments after the company failed to respond, with awards totaling more than $2 million. But the former dealership company sold substantially all its assets, paid lenders, and dissolved.

The Johnstown dealership kept operating under new ownership, while the sale agreement excluded the families’ claims from the liabilities transferred to the buyer. Their court victories have left them with another fight: getting paid.

Winnebago Plans 51 More Layoffs After Cutting Hundreds of Iowa Jobs

Another 51 Winnebago employees in Forest City, Iowa, are scheduled to lose their jobs November 9. A separate round affecting 27 workers is set for November 30, bringing the total covered by the plant’s two recent announcements to 78.

Those cuts follow 311 Iowa layoffs in 2025. Winnebago is also moving production between factories and closing facilities, although it has not publicly confirmed that the latest specialty-vehicle layoffs directly result from that restructuring. Its next earnings report is scheduled for October 21.

Diesel Is Back Above $6.30, and the Supply Squeeze Could Last Into 2027

Buying 80 gallons of diesel cost about $213 more on October 15 than a year earlier, based on AAA’s national averages. For a longer RV trip, that difference can add hundreds of dollars to the fuel budget.

A new International Energy Agency report points to disrupted exports, damaged refineries, and shrinking inventories. Production is expected to improve in early 2027, but rebuilding depleted supplies could take longer. The announced Russian diesel deal may offer limited relief because refinery capacity still restricts how much fuel can reach buyers.

21 Free Camping Areas Could Start Charging Overnight Fees

Forest Service proposals would introduce nightly fees at 21 currently free camping locations in Arizona, Montana, and California. Standard sites would cost $10 to $26, with higher charges for certain double sites and a separate per-person proposal for the Carson Pass area.

Nothing has changed yet. April 19, 2027, is the earliest possible start date, and further review is required before final decisions. RV access also varies: some locations accommodate only small trailers, while others require arriving on foot, by bicycle, or by boat.

RV Sales Fell, but Parts Revenue Jumped. Are Owners Keeping Their Rigs Longer?

September brought an unusual split at RV dealerships: sales revenue fell 5.6%, parts revenue rose 5%, and service revenue stayed flat. It was the first national parts-revenue increase of 2026 in Lightspeed’s reporting.

Owners repairing or upgrading their current RVs instead of replacing them could help explain the results. But the report doesn’t identify what people bought or how much higher prices contributed. One month raises an interesting question about buying habits, without establishing a lasting shift.
