This is exactly what we used https://www.amazon.com/Lifegrip-Anti-Slip-Traction-Tape/dp/B0CSN8W5B7/
Has survived southern heat and cold northern winters. The glow strip on it also helps see the steps at night.

Depending on the size of your RV it might even be better to run two smaller dehumidifiers on each side of the RV. And strategically place moisture absorbers like Damp-rid throughout the RV (in closets, storage areas, etc). These combined should take care of the problem.

Side note, I’d stop and fill up right before crossing into CA. Last time I was that way diesel was about $2 cheaper per gallon in AZ. Its probably worse these days.
::Add at least 5 gallons of water to your RV black tank after dumping. More water when flushing helps break down waste and stops buildup. Using a probiotic tank treatment is also a great idea because it introduces good bacteria that help fight the bad odors and break down waste naturally. This not only helps with smells but also keeps your sensors clear and your valves from getting stuck. Unique makes a good probiotic treatment that works well for this.
tldr: After you dump add 5 gallons of water and add a probiotic tank treatment.
::It’s most likely a faulty water valve. Essentially, the valve that controls water flow into the toilet likely failed or became stuck, allowing water to continuously fill the tank.
To prevent it you could install a shut off valve on the water lien to the toilet so you can quickly and easily shut the water off if it happens again.
::Full-timer here with cats, get the Breeze litter box system and never look back! No smell, super easy to clean, and litter rarely if ever comes out.
::I’ve got a thetford. Start by cleaning the ball seal. You can pour a little hot water (not boiling) into the toilet and open and closing the flush ball to remove any debris that might be preventing it from sealing correctly. You may even have to put on a rubber glove and use your finger to remove any build-up around the seal.
If that doesn’t work, you have to replace the seal, which is fairly easy (at least on my model). In a nutshell:
1. Turn off the water supply to avoid leaks.
2. Loosen the two nuts at the back of the toilet to separate the bowl from the base.
3. Once removed, the seal can be accessed and replaced. Clean the area if needed and lubricate the new seal with silicone spray.
4. Reassemble the toilet by reversing the disassembly steps: lock the bowl back in place and secure it with the two bolts. You’ll want to check your toilet manual to make sure the process is the same for your model.

If you do see signs of mold, use Star Brite mold and mildew remover. Works wonders
::What tory said. Plus, make sure to check the pressure when the tires are cold, meaning before you’ve driven more than a mile or so (driving heats up the tires, which in turn increases the air pressure inside them).
::While I know some who fill up rubbermaid tubs with wood from home and take it with them, we always buy from local sources. In fact, it’s illegal in some states due to invasive species like the ash borer to bring wood from state to state. Grab some from the local woods, run to Menards/lowes/etc., or ask the campground host where to get it. They might even sell it. I think I paid $5 a bundle last time I got it.
