Chrysler Recalls Over 456,000 Vehicles Over Trailer Light and Brake Defect
Chrysler has announced a safety recall covering an estimated 456,287 vehicles equipped with trailer tow modules that may not function as designed. The issue can cause trailer brake lights and turn signals to stop working, and in some cases, interfere with trailer brake operation. For anyone hauling a camper or other heavy load, that creates a real safety risk on the road.
The recall, filed under National Highway Traffic Safety Administration campaign number 26V059000, applies to select 2024 to 2026 Jeep Wagoneer S and Cherokee models, along with several 2025 to 2026 Ram pickup and cab chassis trucks. Chrysler says dealers will replace the trailer tow module at no cost. Owner notification letters are scheduled to go out on March 24, 2026, and VINs will be searchable through NHTSA beginning February 10.
In the meantime, owners who tow are advised to manually check trailer lights and brake operation before traveling and schedule the repair once parts become available.
Leigh Tiffin Steps Down as Tiffin Motorhomes President, Joins NIRVC
Tiffin Motorhomes confirmed that Leigh Tiffin has resigned as president, effective immediately. The company clarified that he was not terminated and has accepted a new opportunity with National Indoor RV Centers.
Tiffin, grandson of founder Bob Tiffin, led the company through a period that included its 2020 acquisition by THOR Industries. During that time, the brand continued operating from Red Bay, Alabama, maintaining its identity under THOR’s ownership. The company has not named a successor, and no advance notice of the resignation was given.
Tiffin stated that manufacturing, staffing, and daily operations remain unchanged. Bob Tiffin continues in a leadership and advisory role, and other family members remain involved. THOR Industries said the existing leadership team remains in place and that product launches, including the upcoming Cornerstone brand, are still on schedule.
Alliance RV Enters Motorhome Market With Midwest Automotive Designs Acquisition
Alliance RV is moving beyond towable products and into motorized RVs for the first time. The Elkhart, Indiana, company has acquired Midwest Automotive Designs, a Class B motorhome and luxury van manufacturer previously owned by REV Recreation Group.
Midwest Automotive Designs, founded in 2003, builds primarily on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis and operates out of a 150,000-square-foot facility in Elkhart. More than 200 employees will join Alliance as part of the transaction. The company will continue operating as a separate business unit.
Alliance, launched in 2019, has built its portfolio around fifth wheels, toy haulers, travel trailers, and destination trailers. Company leadership said the acquisition expands its offerings into the growing Class B and luxury van segment while building on Midwest’s established reputation and dealer network.
