Alliance RV has taken its first step into motorhome manufacturing.
The Elkhart, Indiana company announced it has acquired Midwest Automotive Designs, a custom van upfitter that builds Class B motorhomes and luxury transportation vans. The move shifts Alliance beyond towable RVs and into the motorized segment for the first time since its launch in 2019.
Midwest Automotive Designs was previously a division of REV Recreation Group, which operates under Milwaukee-based REV Group. The acquisition follows REV Group’s recently completed merger with Terex Corporation.
Alliance RV confirmed that Midwest will continue operating as a separate business unit. Its manufacturing facilities will remain in Elkhart, about six miles from Alliance’s headquarters. The company’s more than 200 employees will join Alliance as part of the transaction.
Founded in 2003, Midwest Automotive Designs produces Class B motorhomes and luxury limousine, charter, and tour vans. The company primarily builds on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis. Its combined manufacturing and office space exceeds 150,000 square feet.
Alliance RV launched in 2019 with fifth wheels and later expanded into toy haulers, travel trailers, and destination trailers. Until now, it had not produced motorhomes.
Co-founder Ryan Brady said Midwest has built a reputation over the past two decades for quality, service, and product innovation. He stated the acquisition aligns with Alliance’s plan to broaden its RV offerings and build on Midwest’s existing platform.
Co-founder Coley Brady said Alliance intends to apply its customer-focused approach and dealer relationships to the Midwest operation. He described Midwest as an established company with a strong product lineup.
The deal positions Alliance RV in the growing Class B and luxury van market, adding motorized vehicles to a portfolio that had previously focused only on towable products.
