That camco double rod design looks nice. But for half the price we got an off brand one that’s the same size, single rod, and it works fine. We also put a rubber shelf liner down on the glass and when combined with the rod it effectively stops anything from moving around.
::First, are we sure it sthe smoke detector and not the CO detector. I’m sure you know the difference between the two, but people have mixed them up before. It could be a low battery issue

::We do the navy shower thing: water on to get wet, off while I soap up, then back on for a quick rinse. I also catch the cold water that runs while waiting for it to warm up and use it for flushing the toilet. And get an oxygenics shower head too
