Looking to take our tandem bike with us on our first trip. We have 30ft motorhome with a roof ladder on the back. The bike is almost 9ft long so its too long to put on a standard bike rack (it would stick out the sides of the RV). My thought is to use a hitch mount basket for the rear tire and bungee/strap the front tire to the ladder. Thoughts?

I would not attach anything to the ladder. Even if its rated at 250 lbs, that’s likely static weight. The bouncing down the road with the weight of the bike could rip it right off. Extremely dangerous for anybody behind you

Take the tire off the bike so its not as long and use a bike rack.
