Cracker Barrel Names New CEO After Rebranding Backlash
Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Masino will step down on August 10, 2026, following a tenure marked by efforts to modernize the restaurant chain. Those changes included updated dining rooms, advertising, menu items and a simplified logo that was withdrawn less than a week after customers objected to the removal of the familiar “Old Timer” image.
Former Bloomin’ Brands CEO David Deno will take over as Cracker Barrel works to improve sales without alienating longtime customers. The company has also sold restaurant properties to reduce debt, exited the Maple Street Biscuit Company business and narrowed its focus to the main Cracker Barrel brand.
RV Shipments Keep Falling, but Motorhomes Buck the Trend
RV manufacturers shipped 25,484 units in June, down 13.1% from the same month in 2025. Total shipments for the first half of 2026 fell 14.2%, marking six consecutive months of year-over-year declines.
Towable RVs carried most of the losses, with travel trailers, fifth wheels and total towable shipments all down sharply. Motorhomes moved in the other direction, rising 9.8% for the year as Type B camper vans and Type C motorhomes posted double-digit growth. Park Models and truck campers also recorded gains, pointing to an increasingly divided market.
Camping World Targets $100 Million in Savings as New RV Sales Slide
Camping World plans to remove another $100 million from its annual cost structure after second-quarter new RV sales dropped 16.4%. Used RV sales rose 5.2%, but total unit sales still declined, and the company lowered its 2026 earnings outlook.
Camping World has not explained exactly where the reductions will occur. Earlier savings included lower employee compensation following a headcount reduction, raising questions about possible effects on dealership staffing, repairs, customer support and sales. The company says its efficiency plan is meant to simplify operations and create a more consistent customer experience.

Dakota Lithium will continue operating as a separate brand alongside Battle Born Batteries. Dragonfly Energy plans to support existing dealers, distributors and customers while replenishing inventory and expanding product availability over the coming months.
