The Dyrt, a popular campground app, reported in their 2024 Camping Report that a significant 53.7% of campers brought their dogs to campsites in 2023. While dogs were the most popular camping companions, the report also noted that 5.8% of campers took their cats along, and some even brought chickens, box turtles, guinea pigs, and parrots.
Particularly within the RV camping community, there was a noticeable 20.8% higher likelihood of campers bringing pets compared to other groups.
The report also highlighted that campgrounds are increasingly catering to pet owners, adding amenities such as dog parks, which ranked as the third-most popular new feature after Wi-Fi and pickleball courts.
