::There’s a huge increase in campground bookings ahead of the April solar eclipse in North America – over 500% in Arkansas and Vermont – as reported by Forbes.
This eclipse, described as the longest since 1806 and the last until 2033 in Alaska, will be visible from a path stretching from Mexico to Atlantic Canada. With hotels becoming scarce and expensive, many people are turning to camping as an alternative.
Campspot, an online campground booking website, has reported a 97% increase in searches and a 90% increase in bookings for campgrounds within the eclipse’s path. The demand for prime camping spots in areas with optimal eclipse views is high, leading to a surge in interest and bookings.
“If you’re looking for a laid-back yet thrilling way to experience the 2024 solar eclipse, consider camping—just be sure to plan ahead to secure your ideal spot!” said Erin Stender, CEO of Campspot.
