Booked a site in Florida and the campground asked the age of my RV. I asked why and they said anything older than 10 years they would need a picture. Is this common? DO I need to trade in my RV before it hits ten years?? lol

A strict 10-year rule isn’t common, however, I’ve stayed at quite a few that just want to know if your RV is well-maintained before letting you book a spot. Some RVers hate this rule, others appreciate it. And no, I wouldn’t worry about having to trade your RV in at the 10-year mark 🙂

A strict 10 year rule is excessive imo. But for those that simply want photos to check the condition of an RV is fine by me. Look at it from the perspective of a park owner. Old, dilapidated campers are at a higher risk of catching fire due to aged wiring conditions, motorhomes are more likely to not start when it comes time to leave, some people HAVE ditched their old campers at campgrounds because it can be expensive/extremely hard to get rid of them, and I’ve heard from one park owner that insurance companies recommend it.
