SpaceX has increased the price of its Starlink Roam plan, which is extremely popular with RVers, but they’ve also added some useful features. The cost has gone up from $150 to $165 a month, but now the plan supports in-motion use and allows international access for up to two months. Here’s what to expect from these changes.

SpaceX sent an email on Wednesday to subscribers announcing the price hike for their Starlink Roam “Mobile Regional” plan, now renamed “Roam Unlimited.” Along with the new name, the plan has gained some features that were previously only available on more expensive options. One of the biggest changes is the ability to use the Starlink dish while in motion, even at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Before this update, subscribers were technically restricted to using it while moving under 10 mph, though that limit wasn’t strictly enforced.

Another addition is international access. Starlink Roam users can now use their dish in other countries for up to two months. This also applies to coastal waters, with coverage extending up to 12 nautical miles from shore. This is a big upgrade from the original land-only coverage.

SpaceX explained that the price increase is necessary to support these improvements and network upgrades. For those looking for a cheaper option, SpaceX has also made the “Roam 50GB” plan available to all Roam subscribers, which was previously exclusive to Starlink Mini dish users. This plan costs $50 a month, but it caps data at 50GB.

Yea, I got that email. Not too happy about the already high price rising, especially since I don’t even use it while moving. But if you need a solid connection and high speeds its still the best option…
