          Yellowstone Bison Reportedly Hurls Tourist During Campground Chase

          A tourist suffered serious injuries after a bull bison reportedly chased him through Yellowstone’s Bridge Bay Campground, hooked him near the hip, and threw him about eight feet into the air. A witness said the man and his grandson were roughly 100 yards away and appeared to follow park safety guidance when the animal charged through the campground. Visitors distracted the bison after the attack, allowing emergency responders to reach the injured man. The incident occurred during the bison rut, when bulls can become more active and aggressive. Yellowstone had not publicly confirmed the attack or released an update on the man’s condition at the time of publication.
