Love’s Expands RV Services With Tires and Batteries at 76 Locations

RV travelers now have another maintenance option while on the road. Love’s Travel Stops announced that many of its RV Stop and Truck Care locations now offer RV tires and Marine/RV batteries. The rollout currently includes 76 locations across 27 states, with installation available either in a service bay or near an RV hookup.

The tires are provided through Lionshead Tire & Wheel and include several trailer tire models that come pre-mounted and balanced, which can reduce installation time. Interstate Batteries is supplying deep-cycle Marine/RV batteries designed to power onboard equipment such as refrigerators and cooktops. According to the company, the goal is to help travelers handle routine maintenance without disrupting their trip.

Love’s said the tire and battery program represents an early phase and more locations may be added as the company expands its RV Stop network. The travel stop chain currently operates 129 RV Stop locations that offer amenities such as hookups, Wi-Fi, dump stations, and mobile booking through the Love’s Rewards app.

Texas Man Receives Jail Sentence After Leaving Yellowstone Boardwalk

A man from Frisco, Texas was sentenced to five days in jail after pleading guilty to walking off a designated boardwalk in a thermal area at Yellowstone National Park. The incident occurred at Mammoth Hot Springs, a well known hydrothermal site that draws large numbers of visitors each year.

According to court records, the man walked across several sensitive geothermal features including Canary Spring, Mound Terrace, Palette Hot Spring, and Jupiter Terrace. Officials reported visible damage from his footprints on the fragile formations. Prosecutors said the case was pursued to discourage similar behavior and to highlight the safety risks involved in entering thermal areas.

Park regulations require visitors to remain on boardwalks and marked trails, avoid touching thermal features or runoff channels, and keep pets out of thermal areas. The ground around hot springs can appear solid but may contain thin crusts covering extremely hot water, making off trail travel dangerous and damaging to the environment.

RV Industry Approves Tire Pressure Monitoring Requirement for 2028 Models

Towable RVs built for the 2028 model year will be required to include tire pressure monitoring systems under a new rule approved by the RV Industry Association’s board of directors. The change applies to towable units with gross vehicle weight ratings under 26,000 pounds.

The requirement stems from work by the association’s Standards Steering Committee, which supported incorporating TPMS into the 2029 edition of the National Fire Protection Association’s RV safety standard. Instead of setting a single deadline across the industry, each manufacturer will implement the requirement when its 2028 model year production begins.

The system definition included in the updated standard describes TPMS as a device that measures tire pressure directly or indirectly and alerts the driver when pressure falls outside set thresholds. RVIA inspectors plan to verify compliance by reviewing vehicle identification numbers during inspections and coordinating with manufacturers as model years change over.
