In a recent shift to the Los Angeles Chargers as head coach, Jim Harbaugh has taken a unique approach to his living situation. He chose to reside in an RV for the first two months of his new role.
Drawing inspiration from the 1970s TV show “The Rockford Files,” Harbaugh embraced the lifestyle of the show’s main character, Jim Rockford, who lived in a trailer by the beach. This decision reflects Harbaugh’s desire to live near the water or Disneyland, a plan he had shared upon his introduction as the Chargers’ head coach. Positioned only 100 feet away from the Chargers’ new offensive coordinator, Greg Roman, who also lives in an RV, Harbaugh expressed his satisfaction with this arrangement.
Harbaugh’s journey to the RV lifestyle in Los Angeles was facilitated by his brother-in-law, Tom Crean, who drove Harbaugh’s RV to the area following Harbaugh’s departure from his position as Michigan’s head coach. Despite the simplicity of his RV, Harbaugh finds it to be a perfect match, enjoying the solitude and reflective opportunities it provides.
His family will join him in California as he transitions from RV living to a rental house. Harbaugh looks forward to this next chapter, which indicates the end of his RV living adventure as he reunites with his family in their new home.
