I have a gas-powered Class A and almost always fuel up at truck stops because they’re easier to get in and out of. I just saw a video from RV miles that mentioned not all gas is the same quality. Is truck stop gas any worse for a gasoline engine, or is that just internet noise? He mentioned to look for top tier (I believe) gas.

Truck stop gasoline meets federal standards, so it’s safe to use. The difference people are talking about isn’t safety, it’s detergent levels. Some gasoline meets higher cleanliness standards than others, and not all truck stop brands are certified under those programs.

That doesn’t mean truck stop gas is bad, but over the long term, higher-detergent fuel can help keep gasoline engines cleaner, especially under heavy loads like RV use. It’s more of a long-term maintenance consideration than a short-term concern.

He mentions TOP TIER gas in his video, and that’s exactly what I recommend people to use, and I use many myself when possible.

This would actually make a great article topic! I’ll work on that later today. Thanks for the idea! 🙂
