In a major development for the RV community, Harvest Hosts has acquired the Escapees RV Club, a well-established organization with 70,000 members. This acquisition means that Harvest Hosts will now manage Escapees’ membership, support services, educational programs, and events. However, the Escapees Mail Service and RV Parks will continue under the current management.

Escapees RV Club, founded in 1978 by Joe and Kay Peterson, has been a staple for RVers, providing a strong community and various services. The decision to transition management to Harvest Hosts came after extensive discussions within the Carr family, descendants of the founders. They expressed confidence that this move will promote the club’s growth while preserving its core values.

Harvest Hosts, led by CEO Joel Holland, offers a unique membership program that includes over 9,000 overnight locations such as wineries, farms, and breweries. Holland, an Escapees member for several years, emphasized his commitment to maintaining the philosophies of Escapees and enhancing member experiences. The acquisition is expected to introduce new opportunities and services for members, combining the strengths of both organizations.

Members of Escapees will continue to enjoy their current benefits without interruption. New experiences, including expanded educational programs and unique overnight stays, are anticipated. The Xscapers community, a subset of Escapees, will also continue to receive attention, with events like Convergences and Annual Bash remaining key activities.

This merger aims to create a more comprehensive RV membership experience, offering a wider range of services and maintaining the strong community spirit that Escapees has fostered for decades.
