I’ve seen this debated elsewhere but have ever really found a definitive answer. Do RVs need to stop at weight stations? Does it vary by state?

In most states, weigh stations are for commercial vehicles, not personal RVs. However, every state has different rules regarding weighing, and they change, so if you’re concerned, contact the DOT of the states you’ll be driving through.

You could always avoid them by planning your route around them. Allstays shows weigh stations on their maps I believe. Or drive through at night. 🙂 That said, I’ve never stopped at one. ever.

I’ve never stopped either, but I’ve read that CO is one of the states that does require it, and I’ll be driving through there this spring. I cant find anything on their govt website though
