I’m sure it varies by RV, but can you generally walk on the roof? I want to get on the roof to inspect/fix a potential leak. But I dont want to cause more damage by falling through the roof lol.

I would highly recommend checking your RV’s manual or contacting the manufacturer to understand the specific guidelines regarding walking on the roof. Some RV roofs are designed to support the weight of a person, while others are not.
If you are able to get on the roof, safety should be your primary concern:
- Ensure the roof is clean and dry before walking on it to prevent slipping. Wet or dirty surfaces can be very slippery and dangerous.
- Wear soft-soled, non-slip shoes to avoid damaging the roof and to ensure good traction.
- Be cautious around areas with vents, skylights, or air conditioning units. These can be more fragile and easily damaged.
I live FT in my RV. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve been on the roof with no issues. BUt like Tory said, it depends. Let us know the make/model and we can help you figure it out if need be.
I couldn’t find anything in the manual but I called the dealership and they said I was fine to walk on the roof. Thanks for the help and the tips.
