Louisiana Cracks Down on Left-Lane Hogs – Repeat Offenders Could Face Jail Time
If you like to cruise in the left lane, Louisiana’s new law says you’d better think twice. Starting August 1, 2025, repeat slow drivers in the left lane could face steep fines and even jail time. First offense? $150. Third time in a year? That could mean $350 and up to 30 days behind bars. The law makes clear that even if you’re driving the speed limit, blocking faster traffic in the left lane can still get you cited. Other states like Texas and Indiana also penalize left-lane “camping,” but Louisiana’s penalties are now among the toughest.

It’s part of their plan to support both drivers and the communities they serve.
Camping World in Escanaba Closes Suddenly, Employees Caught Off Guard
The Camping World store in Escanaba, MI, shut its doors without warning this week, leaving workers and locals stunned. The location had seen solid summer sales and was formerly the family-run Hilltop RV before being bought by Camping World in 2021. Staff were informed it was their last day on Wednesday, and while the service department will finish current jobs, RV sales have stopped immediately. The nearest location is now in Green Bay, 111 miles away.
New RV Insurance Agency Says No More One-Size-Fits-All Policies
A new insurance company just launched to give RV owners better protection. The RV Insurance Shop, based in North Carolina, was founded by insurance veteran Marty Karriker, who says too many RVers are underinsured with basic auto add-ons. His agency only handles RVs (motorhomes, trailers, fifth-wheels, you name it) and offers coverage for things like full-time living, roadside help, and vacation liability. They aim to explain your options clearly, not just sell a policy.
