Zion Records Second Fatal Fall in Less Than a Week
A 43-year-old California man died after falling in Spry Canyon at Zion National Park, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The canyon is not a marked hiking trail and is generally used by experienced canyoneers, with rope work and rappelling involved. Authorities believe the fall was accidental, though the investigation is still ongoing. The death came five days after a 68-year-old Texas man died from a fall on Angels Landing.

Analysts said prices could keep climbing as long as the Strait of Hormuz remains closed during the Iran war, limiting a major route for oil and natural gas trade. Even after the strait reopens, experts warned that delays, repairs, and low inventories could keep prices elevated for some time.
