Fake Toll Scam Alert

Scammers are hitting Arizonans with texts about unpaid toll fines, pretending to be from “AZDOT.” The messages threaten legal action if a fake balance isn’t paid by March 29, 2025. But here’s the catch—Arizona doesn’t have any toll roads. These texts are a form of “smishing,” where scammers try to trick you into clicking shady links or giving up personal info. If you get one, don’t click anything. I, personally, live in Iowa and have received several fake toll texts, so I know this can be an issue outside of Arizona too.

Thor Moves Heartland RV Under Jayco to Cut Costs and Boost Quality

Thor Industries is shaking up its RV brands by putting Heartland RV under Jayco’s management. They say this will help Heartland overcome recent issues with operations and customer service. Meanwhile, private label brands from Heartland are being shifted to Dutchmen Manufacturing. Thor says the changes will make their business run smoother, though they haven’t said yet if this means job cuts or plant closures.

LA Sheriff Clears Out RV Lot Full of Squatters Amid Legal Mess

LA County deputies started clearing an RV storage lot that had been taken over by squatters—some homeless, some just taking advantage. The lot was part of a legal fight between the property owner and RV maker Black Series, who accidentally paid rent to the wrong person. Dozens of RVs got damaged or burned while squatters moved in. Some say they were even paying rent to random people. Authorities are now working to connect people with housing before fully clearing the site next week.
