          Winnebago Shutting Down Two Iowa Facilities, 121 Jobs to Be Lost

          Winnebago Industries is closing its Waverly and Charles City plants in northeast Iowa, affecting a total of 121 workers. The Waverly closure, set for September 8, will impact 77 employees. Charles City will see two rounds of layoffs, first in September and again in December when it shuts down entirely. Winnebago has not shared the reasons behind these closures.

          Summer Gas Prices Hit Lowest Since 2021 While EV Charging Rates Stay Steady

          Drivers are getting a break at the gas pump this summer with national averages around $3.17 per gallon, the lowest summer prices in four years. This drop is linked to a high oil supply. Meanwhile, EV charging costs remain unchanged at 36 cents per kilowatt hour. Mississippi has the cheapest gas at $2.71, while California tops the list at $4.53.

          Texas Flash Flood Wrecks RV Park, Spurs New Calls for Warning Systems

          A flash flood along Texas’s Guadalupe River destroyed the Guadalupe Keys Resort RV Park on July 4, flipping RVs and claiming over 100 lives, including 27 at a nearby camp. Resort owner David Chambers helped evacuate guests but says a better warning system could have saved more lives. Texas officials are now considering installing flood sirens in vulnerable areas.
