Tragic RV Crash in Florida Kills Two Children, Raises Safety Questions

A devastating motorhome crash in Marion County, Florida, has left two children dead and multiple others seriously injured. The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. on December 27, when a Chevrolet Tahoe veered off the road and collided with an RV carrying 15 people from Springfield, Ohio. The impact flipped the motorhome, killing a 5-year-old boy instantly and injuring twelve others critically. Another child died later after being born prematurely due to the crash. Investigators revealed that none of the RV occupants were using seatbelts or child restraints at the time. Residents familiar with the intersection say it’s known for accidents, citing poor visibility and limited signage. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause.

National Parks Roll Out Higher Fees, Stricter Entry Rules in 2026

Heading to a national park in 2026? Be prepared for new entry requirements and steeper costs. U.S. residents still pay $80 for an annual pass, but international visitors now face a $250 annual fee plus a $100 per-person surcharge at the busiest parks. ID checks are now standard for everyone 16 and older, and digital passes are the new norm (just don’t count on cell service at the gate). Several fee-free days are now reserved for U.S. residents, and with park staffing down nearly 24 percent since 2017, even routine entry could take longer. Officials say the changes aim to prioritize taxpayer access and boost revenue, but how smoothly it all works remains to be seen.
