Sticker Overlays on National Park Passes Could Get You Turned Away
The Department of the Interior is cracking down on alterations to the America the Beautiful national park pass. That includes stickers, lamination, or even writing outside the signature area. The move comes amid growing plans by some visitors to cover up the upcoming pass design, which features an image of former President Donald Trump. Rangers can now deny entry if a pass appears modified, even if it’s still valid. The updated policy aims to clarify existing rules, especially as vendors have begun selling sticker kits for the pass, none of which are officially approved. With legal challenges underway over the new design, the Interior says its current guidance stands: bring an unaltered card or risk being turned away.

Starting summer 2026, oversized vehicles will no longer be allowed on the Zion–Mt. Carmel Scenic Highway. The park finalized the decision after decades of data showed that large RVs, buses, and heavy trucks pose safety and infrastructure risks on the narrow, historic road. Affected travelers will need to plan alternate routes, some of which add up to 45 minutes of drive time. Officials say the change is permanent and based on the reality that a 1930s-era road just can’t keep up with modern vehicle sizes.

Some members also allege that critical posts were deleted from official social media. While Harvest Hosts has acknowledged the change, it hasn’t addressed specific complaints, leaving many members waiting to see what happens next.
