Langley Covered Bridge closed after RV smacks height bar
A 10-foot-tall early-1980s Ford motorhome hit and wrecked a height-limiter on the north end of the Langley Covered Bridge late Monday morning. The limiter stopped the vehicle, so the bridge itself wasn’t damaged. Officials say the bridge could be closed up to two weeks while a new limiter, bout 8.5-foot clearance and roughly $14,000, gets installed. The unlicensed Three Rivers driver, who had an outstanding warrant, was arrested, according to the road commission.

During Saturday morning’s storms, a large cottonwood tree fell on a truck at Two Rivers State Park near Waterloo, killing a woman at the scene and critically injuring a man.
