::This Saturday, September 28th, is the next free national park entrance day. On that day, all national parks that usually charge an entrance fee will offer free admission in honor of National Public Lands Day.
National Public Lands Day has been around since 1994 and happens every year on the fourth Saturday of September. It’s the biggest one-day volunteer event across the country. Last year alone, more than 130 national parks hosted events, with 7,600 volunteers putting in a total of 41,500 service hours.
If you miss out, there’s one more “fee-free” day left this year on November 11th, which is Veterans Day.
If you haven’t already, download our National Parks checklist! It’s a fun way to visualize which National Parks you’ve visited and help you plan future park visits. Can you check them all?
