Many of the ocean-view RV campgrounds along the West Coast have beautiful views, but they resemble a paved parking lot.

That’s not what you’ll find here.

This list focuses on campgrounds where the setting still feels like camping. Grass, bluff tops, dunes, trees, open shoreline. Some offer full hookups. Others provide electric only or none at all. Every one of them sits along the Pacific coastline and offers direct ocean views from RV sites, organized from south to north.

Southern California Coast

1. Surf Outpost

2. Jalama Beach County Park & Campground

Quick Overview

Jalama Beach Campground has more than 100 campsites with ocean views. About 31 sites include electrical hookups, and there’s a dump station for RVs. Most sites are beachfront or overlook the Pacific, giving a true coastal camping experience with needed RV utilities close by.

3. Kirk Creek Campground

Quick Overview

Kirk Creek sits dramatically on a bluff overlooking the Pacific in Big Sur, with nearly every site offering sweeping ocean views. There are no hookups or utilities on site, and water must be brought in by RVers. Campsites are gravel and grass with picnic tables and fire rings, making this more about scenery than amenities.

4. Wright’s Beach Campground

There are no hookups, however, potable water and dump stations are available at nearby park facilities (Bodega Dunes, for example). Camping here feels natural and open, with easy beach access along a rugged stretch of coastline.

5. Ocean Cove Store and Campground

Ocean Cove spans twenty acres directly on the Pacific Ocean, with more than one hundred campsites spread across coastal bluffs, open meadow, and wooded areas. RVers can choose oceanfront sites overlooking the water or more secluded spots set back among trees. Campsites include picnic tables and fire pits, with water access, hot showers, and chemical toilets available on the property. A boat ramp and group camping areas are also part of the campground.

The setting provides direct coastal access, with nearby opportunities for hiking, fishing, skin diving, and scuba diving. The layout prioritizes natural terrain rather than paved rows, and the campground operates as dry camping, making it best suited for self-contained RVs.

6. Shelter Cove RV Park & Campground

The campground sits near the Pacific shoreline in the remote community of Shelter Cove. RVers can choose between utility-connected sites or more basic setups, depending on their preference. The layout blends open space with coastal surroundings, keeping the focus on ocean views and access rather than dense pavement rows.

Oregon Coast

7. Seal Rocks RV Cove
