Love’s Travel Stop Secrets That Save Time, Money & Stress for RVers

Love’s Travel Stops are more than just fuel stations for long-haul truckers. Many RVers don’t realize how much time and money they can save by using the right features at these nationwide locations.

Here are my best tips and a look at the lesser-known services Love’s has to offer before your next trip.

1. Use the Love’s Connect App for Cheaper Fuel

The Love’s Connect app shows real-time fuel prices and can save drivers up to 10¢ per gallon on gas and 25¢ per gallon on diesel when linked to the My Love Rewards program.

Note: the cents-per-gallon discount applies at the auto pumps. It doesn’t apply in the commercial truck lanes.

2. Love’s RV Stops with Full Hookups Are Expanding Nationwide

Love’s is rolling out dedicated RV Stops and RV Hookup sites at select travel stop locations. These aren’t just parking spots; most offer 30/50-amp power, water, dump stations, and even laundry facilities, along with a safe, paved place to stay overnight. Nearly every RV Stop sits beside a full Love’s Travel Stop for fuel, propane, food, dog parks, and other essentials.

Some of the larger RV Stops add campground-style features such as:

  • An RV-specific retail building
  • Communal firepits
  • Basketball or pickleball courts
  • Picnic areas

Availability varies, so it’s worth checking the Love’s Connect app or lovesrvstops.com when planning your route.

3. More Than 400 Love’s Locations Now Have Dog Parks

If you travel with a dog, Love’s has quietly become one of the best places to stop. The company has added over 400 fenced dog parks across its network, and the number keeps growing. These areas are roughly 50 by 100 feet, fully fenced, and include a mix of turf, grass, or gravel along with waste stations and bags.

Many stops even have separate spaces for large and small dogs, and some stores sell pet basics like food, treats, leashes, and bowls if you need to restock. All parks are open 24/7 and clearly marked from the parking lot, so it’s simple to find a safe place for your dog to stretch, sniff, and burn off energy before getting back on the road.

4. RV Dump Stations Are Widely Available

RVers don’t always realize how common dump stations are at Love’s. Roughly 400 of Love’s 600+ travel stops now provide an RV dump station, making it one of the most reliable nationwide networks outside campgrounds.

Pricing isn’t standardized (it can vary by location), but many RVers report paying around $10 for a single dump. Always verify before you go: use the Love’s location search with the RV Dump filter or call ahead for current pricing and availability.

5. Private Showers Aren’t Just for Truckers

When you’re boondocking or trying to stretch your tanks a little longer, a long, hot shower at Love’s can be a welcome break. Each is a private, locking room with unlimited hot water, a toilet, sink, and fresh towels.

They typically cost around $12–$15 (sometimes less with My Love Rewards points). If a location is busy, the Love’s Connect app lets you check wait times and reserve a shower so you’re not stuck waiting. It’s a good backup option when you’re conserving tank space or just want a longer, hassle-free shower.

6. Propane Fills at Select Locations

Around 400 of their 600 locations offer propane. You can check their app or the online store locator for locations that offer this.

7. Fresh Food Options Go Beyond Typical Gas-Station Snacks

Love’s isn’t just chips and candy anymore. Many locations serve made-fresh daily tacos, hot breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and roller-grill favorites like hot dogs and egg rolls. You’ll also find fruit cups, veggie packs, and whole fruit (apples, bananas, oranges) at reasonable prices, a welcome change when you’re trying to eat healthier on the road.

Coffee is a standout (one of my favorite coffee stops, actually) with several roast options and seasonal blends that rotate through the year. Most stores also stock a wide range of snacks and drinks, including Love’s own branded products that are often cheaper than name brands.

It’s not Buc-ee’s, but it’s far better than the bare-bones selection many RVers expect at a fuel stop.

8. Amazon Lockers and Package Pickups

If you need something shipped mid-trip, some Love’s serve as Amazon locker or package pickup locations. When checking out on Amazon, choose a nearby Love’s if it’s offered.

9. Order Ahead at Select Fast-Food Chains Through the Love’s App

Some Love’s locations now let you order food in advance through the Love’s Connect app. The feature, powered by Bite, is already live at many Hardee’s, Arby’s, and Carl’s Jr. restaurants, with more brands like Bojangles and Taco John’s expected to join.

This comes in handy when you’re fueling up or parking your RV and don’t want to stand around waiting. My Love Rewards points can still be applied when you check out in the app.

10. Join the Love’s Free Drink Club

Inside the Love’s Connect app, buy four drinks – fountain, coffee, tea, or ICEE – and get the fifth free. It works year-round.

11. Free Basic Wi-Fi for My Love Rewards Members

Rewards members get complimentary basic Wi-Fi for checking email, maps, or light browsing. Paid premium tiers are available if you need more speed or streaming.

12. Many Love’s Truck Washes Can Handle RVs

Several Love’s locations now have automatic truck washes that accept RVs. They list two size categories: up to 30 feet and over 30 feet. Pricing varies by location, but the published rates are around $38 for rigs up to 30 feet and $46 for those over 30 feet.

Before using one, it’s smart to call ahead. Confirm the bay’s clearance, ask about the wash process, and check whether the brushes and pressure levels are safe for your RV’s finish. These washes are convenient for a quick exterior clean, but some RVers prefer gentler hand washes for older paint or decals.

13. Love’s Has a Few Storage Locations That Allow RV Parking

I was actually a little surprised to hear about this one. Love’s is testing the storage market with a small network of five facilities (so far). They are in El Paso and Sweetwater, Texas, Bridgeton, Missouri, and Las Vegas, Nevada. Each site offers 24-hour gated access, security cameras, and covered parking spaces for RVs, boats, and other vehicles.

Standard storage units are also available, some with climate control and drive-up access. If you need a place to leave your RV during the off-season or between RV trips, it’s an option to know about, but availability is still very limited.

  1. I wish Love truck stops would put at least one GAS only lane back with the diesel pumps. Last trip down and back to Disnet on I75 we were always waiting for the end gas pumps to open so we could get in with our 35 TR. People in cars always fuel up then go in the store while their car is “parked” at the pump.

  2. We love Loves. However, there is one caveat you should have mentioned about the fuel discount. It is not available to fills done in the truck lanes. It is only available for the auto side.

    • Correct, it will not work on the commercial diesel side. It’s a separate program to get discounts on that. I’ll add a note. Thanks.

  3. Showers are 18.00 dollars . The best part is that spouse are included the cost for showers. points on the loves card are not usable for the showers, I know I tried. That is what I have been charged. I have tried to get management to at least include the cost of showers in the pay for rv camping spot. That has been a failure. Overall, still going there is better than Buc-ees.
