I found 8 different Nebraska locations where RVers can stay for free, all with at least electric and water on-site, and several with dump stations, as well.
Keep in mind, these are not resorts, but rather municipal parks with short stay windows. They are a good option for a free overnight stop or short stay while traveling to your destination.

1. Streeter Park Campground
City: Aurora, Nebraska

Streeter Park Campground is located near downtown Aurora and is open to the public year-round. Camping operates on a first-come, first-serve basis and is limited to four nights per stay. Camping is free, with donations requested, and a donation drop box is located under the shelter at the campground entrance.
The campground provides free electrical hookups, free water, and a free wastewater dump site. This setup makes it one of the more complete free RV camping options in Nebraska, especially for travelers needing hookups without a nightly fee.
2. Bayard City Campground

Bayard City Campground has three RV sites with power and water hookups. The first two nights are free, with additional nights charged up to a maximum stay of ten consecutive days. A dump station is located elsewhere in town rather than on site. Camping is first-come, first-serve, and the campground is commonly used for short stays by travelers crossing the Nebraska Panhandle.
3. Lake North Park

Lake North Park spans 14 acres next to a 200-acre lake and is operated by the Loup Power District. Free summer camping is available with electrical hookups and primitive sites. Restrooms are open during the summer months, and potable water is available from May through September. The park includes beaches, boat ramps, playground areas, picnic tables, grills, and trails connecting to nearby parks. No reservations are accepted.
4. Loup Park
City: Columbus, Nebraska

Loup Park covers 31 acres along the north and west shores of Lake Babcock. Free camping with electrical hookups and primitive sites is available during the summer season. The park includes trails, picnic and grilling areas, playground equipment, frisbee golf, shelter houses, fishing access, and a walking bridge over the river. Camping is limited to seven days per 30-day period, with no reservations accepted. There are no dump stations or direct water hookups, and all facilities are alcohol free.
5. Headworks Park
City: Genoa, Nebraska

Headworks Park covers 17 acres and sits alongside Loup Power District land with access to canal-side walking areas. Camping is available with electrical hookups and primitive sites at no charge during the summer season. Restrooms are open seasonally, and potable water, picnic tables, grills, playground areas, and bird-watching opportunities are available. No reservations are accepted, and camping is limited to seven days per 30-day period. There are no dump stations or direct water hookups.
6. Harrison City Park Campground

Harrison City Park Campground provides two RV pads with electrical and water hookups and operates on a free-will donation basis. One pedestal supplies electric and water service for two parking spaces, offering 30-amp service and a 50-amp outlet. Free stays are limited to three nights. The campground is located within a maintained city park setting.
7. Karrer Park
City: McCook, Nebraska

Karrer Park is temporarily closed as of July 2025. Check with the city before planning a stop.
Karrer Park offers RV camping with free power and water hookups when open. A dump station is located near the park entrance. Camping is limited to a maximum of three days, and donations are accepted. Restrooms operate seasonally. The park is often used as a brief stop for travelers passing through southwest Nebraska.
8. Lincoln Park
City: Superior, Nebraska

Lincoln Park provides RV camping with power and water hookups and level, concrete pads. The park operates on a donation-based system. A dump station is located just down the road and by the school. Stays are limited to 14 nights within a 60-day period. Amenities inlcude a playground area, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball pit, disc golf, a pond for catch and release fishing and even exercise equipment!
