But the RhinoFLEX is, in my opinion, the best model available!
Why? Because the durability and features can’t be beaten for the price.
Durability
This 23mm thick hose is made of polyolefin reinforced with steel wire for excellent durability. With that said, the RhinoFlex is designed to be lightweight, flexible, and easy to use and store. I’ve used one for years with no issues.
But, this model is not as strong as the Camco RhinoExtreme. The Extreme model was designed for anything you can throw at it. It will not dent, rust, or crush if stepped on. Plus, it offers superior abrasion resistance and can withstand temps down to -40.
I prefer the RhinoFLEX as it’s the most well-rounded sewer hose in terms of durability, features, and price, but if durability is your main concern, go for the Camco RhinoExtreme. Just keep in mind it’s about $20 more.
While this hose is extra durable, it’s also very lightweight. I typically handle dumping the tanks, but I asked my wife to test this out, and she had no problem handling the hose throughout the process.
Features
The RhinoFlex kit contains two 10-foot hoses and a 4-in-1 adapter elbow. The hoses attach and collapse so they don’t take up too much space. You can also compress the hose so that you can only stretch out as much as you need and easily switch between lengths.
One of the best features of this hose is the see-through elbow. If you can’t see through your hose, it is hard to tell when all the waste is gone. This model lets you see what is passing through and know when you are finished.
All of this, and it still compacts down to 56″ for easy storage.

How to Choose an RV Sewer Hose
When choosing the best RV sewer hose for your needs, you must understand how you plan to use it.
For example, if you’re a full-timer or plan on using your RV often, you want a thick, durable hose. If you just need to use your hose once or twice a camping season, you may be able to get by with the most affordable choice.
Remember, it is better to be safe than sorry when working with waste. You don’t want to end up with a sewer hose malfunction halfway through your trip.

How Do You Use An RV Sewer Hose?
Your RV has holding tanks for wastewater from the kitchen and bathroom. Whenever you need to empty these tanks, you simply follow these steps:
- Wear gloves. When working with waste, you want to minimize the chance of getting it on your hands. Wear gloves to protect yourself from coming into contact with anything that may leak out.
- Close the sewer valves. Before removing the cap, ensure the sewer valves are closed.
- Attach the hose to the RV. Connect the hose to the waste fitting on the RV and fix the other side to the dump station inlet. Make sure the connections are secure.
- Open the hose valve for the black tank. Do this slowly and let the waste dump into the sewer.
- Repeat with the grey tank. Let all the waste dump into the sewer, then carefully close the valve again.
- Disconnect and clean the hose. Remove the hose from your RV, but keep it attached to the sewer inlet. Use a hose (not the one for your drinking water) to flush the inside of your sewer hose. This process ensures that you don’t have waste residue.
After cleaning, you can disconnect the hose from the sewer and store it. It is important to do your black tank before your grey tank to reduce the chance of nasty residue in your hose.
