Walmart Issues Outdoor Stove Recall After Reports of Fires and Explosions

A nationwide recall has been issued for the Ozark Trail Tabletop 1-Burner Butane Camping Stove, model BG2247A1, after multiple reports of the unit exploding or catching fire. The recall affects about 201,000 stoves sold through Walmart stores and Walmart.com.

The model number can be found on a gray label inside the fuel compartment. The stove is dark green with an orange Ozark Trail logo on the front. It was manufactured by China Window Industry Co. of Taipei, Taiwan, and imported and sold by Walmart.

Hazard and Incident Reports

The recall was announced following 26 reports of the stove exploding or catching fire. Sixteen of those cases involved injuries, including second-degree burns.

What Owners Should Do

Consumers are being told to stop using the stove immediately. Walmart is offering a full refund. The recalled product can be returned to any Walmart store, and additional information is available at 800-925-6278 or on the company’s recall site at corporate.walmart.com/recalls.

When and Where it Was Sold

Walmart sold the stove nationwide and online from March 2023 through October 2025. Retail prices ranged from 8 dollars to 45 dollars.
