Starlink has updated its lowest-priced Roam plan, doubling the amount of high-speed data while changing how service works after the monthly cap is reached.
According to an official support page published January 13, 2026, the former Roam 50GB plan has been replaced with Roam 100GB. The monthly price remains $50, and the change applies at no additional cost in most markets.
Under the updated plan, customers receive 100GB of high-speed data per billing cycle.
What Happens After 100GB Is Used
Once the 100GB high-speed allotment is consumed, service does not stop. Starlink says the connection continues automatically at reduced speeds for the remainder of the billing period.
The company refers to this as unlimited low-speed data. At those speeds, basic activities like email, calls, and texts remain supported. Higher-bandwidth uses such as streaming video, large downloads, and video calls may be limited.
Starlink notifies customers when they reach 80 percent and 100 percent of their monthly high-speed data. After the full allotment is used, speeds are reduced automatically and remain reduced until the next billing cycle begins.
No manual action is required for the transition to low-speed access.
Restoring High-Speed Service
Customers who want full-speed service again before the billing cycle resets must upgrade to Roam Unlimited, which is currently priced at $165/month. Starlink states that upgrading takes effect immediately and continues into future billing cycles rather than reverting automatically.
Starlink has eliminated per-gigabyte data purchases on Roam plans. Previously, customers could buy additional high-speed data after reaching their cap. That option is no longer available, except for Ocean Mode.
Under the new structure, customers move directly to low-speed access unless they upgrade their plan.
