Matt Wagner officially became CEO on January 1, taking over the role from Marcus Lemonis. Lemonis has retired as chief executive but will continue with the company as co-founder and special advisor.
Wagner most recently served as president of Camping World Holdings, a position he assumed in July 2024. Before that, he held the role of chief operating officer from January 2023 through July 2024. Since joining the company in 2007, Wagner has also served as executive vice president and senior vice president of sales, marketing, and corporate development.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and operations and supply chain management from Marquette University.

It is the privilege of my life to write to you today as the new CEO of Camping World. I am writing this on behalf of myself and our 11,000 team members who wake up every morning with a single shared mission, to make it easy for everyone to enjoy RVing.
Founded in 1966, Camping World has been a core part of the RV community for sixty years. For nearly 20 of those years, this company has been my home. I walked through these doors almost two decades ago as an intern, and I have spent every year since learning what makes this company and this community so special. I have seen us grow, I have seen us change, and I have seen firsthand that an RV is never just a vehicle—it is what bonds people with travel, the outdoors, and each other.
As we travel the road ahead, our promise is to lead a Camping World that listens and values your time. We are renewing our commitment to quality of service and to making sure that every interaction you have with us, from the sales lot to the service bay, builds trust.
