Love’s is aiming for 200 RV locations, giving travelers more places to reserve an overnight site along their routes. The expansion comes as the chain adds tires, batteries, and maintenance services for RV customers.
In an interview with Convenience Store News, Jim Wheeler, Love’s senior director of hospitality and RV operations, said the company expects to reach 150 RV locations by the end of 2026. Its longer-term target is 200 by late 2027 or early 2028.
For RVers, the plan could make it easier to combine an overnight stay with errands or maintenance that would otherwise require another stop.
Filling gaps along the highway
Love’s started with a short list of potential RV locations and took about five months to open its second site after the first in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Wheeler said the company now adds roughly 30 to 35 RV locations a year.
“We have pretty good coverage, so that’s just filling in the gaps,” he told the publication.
Customer feedback has helped shape the sites themselves. Wheeler pointed to adjustments that give slide-outs more room and make turns easier for larger rigs.
Those are details an RVer can appreciate. A site needs enough usable space once the slides are extended, and getting in involves more than checking the parking pad length.
Tires, batteries and maintenance join the offerings
The service expansion is already underway.
Through its April tire and battery rollout, Love’s introduced products from Lionshead Tire & Wheel and Interstate Batteries at 76 locations across 27 states. Installation was offered in a service bay or at a nearby RV hookup.
That gives travelers another place to address a worn tire or failing battery while on the road, provided the location carries what their RV needs.
In June, Love’s announced RV oil and lube services at 275 Truck Care locations. At the time, the company said nearly all 431 Truck Care locations offered light mechanical work, including brakes, electrical systems, suspension, and exhaust systems.
Service availability depends on the location and the work involved. Before routing a trip around a repair or oil change, RVers should confirm that the shop can handle their particular rig and request.
The maintenance network also extends beyond the overnight RV locations. Having a reserved campsite and having access to a particular repair service are separate things to check.
Making arrival easier after a driving day
Wheeler also described an arrival process built around the Love’s app.
Reservations can be made up to a year ahead. Once travelers arrive, they can activate their site’s electricity from their phone, while access codes for Wi-Fi and other amenities are sent directly to them.
For someone pulling in after a long drive, that removes the need to track down an employee just to get connected.
Staff presence is still there if needed, though. According to Wheeler, customers tell Love’s they feel reassured by the lighting, employees, and other travelers at its locations.
The location you book still makes a difference
Love’s overnight network includes different types of accommodations. The company has smaller RV hookup areas at its travel stops, along with larger RV Stops that offer extras such as sport courts, fire pits, and grills.
Individual locations also vary in their utility connections and layout.
For a night between destinations, having fuel, food, and hookups close together may be all you need. Anyone planning a longer stay might want a closer look at the specific property, its amenities, and its nightly rate.
