In a short Instagram reel that’s winning hearts, father Mason Smith, also known as the dadsocial, spent just a couple of days turning scraps and spare parts into a mini travel trailer for his daughters. What started as a $25 second-hand Power Wheels toy without a wheel ended up as a fully built camper scaled down for little adventurers.
Made with plywood, paint, and a handful of real RV accessories, this rolling playhouse has details you’d normally see on a full-sized rig, right down to the spare tire. Both kids can fit comfortably inside, and they proudly pulled it through the campground on their first trip of the season.
On top of that, he wasn’t alone. Two other dads joined in to build their own mini trailers, making it a full-on Father’s Day challenge. If you’re a DIY parent, you might be inspired to grab some plywood and try your hand at creating your own little camper.2

Here’s what he had to say in the caption:
12 hours, a couple sheets of plywood, a second hand $25 powerwheel that was missing a wheel, a gallon a paint, some RV accessories, and what do you have? A childhood filled with camping memories. I built this camper for my kids over the course of two days, finishing it just a few hours before leaving on our first camping trip of the season. And yes, both my daughters can fully fit inside. Though they probably will never go camping alone, you should have seen them rolling through the camp ground pulling this little trailer, it was incredible. I’d love to take a minute and say happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there, keep it up, I’m proud of you! I teamed up with two of the coolest dads I know, and we each made our kiddos a mini travel trailer, go check out @easyalex and @theideadad trailers, and if you’re feeling up for it, we’d love to see a trailer you build!
