Here’s the thing, any new travel trailer brand will have its issues. IMO, buying a few years old is perfect in your case as hopefully most of the “kinks” will be worked out and the initial massive drop in value that hits in the first 1-2 years has already happened.
As far as Jayco specifically, they are a good brand for those new to RV’ing. They have a solid warranty for those buying brand new and are affordable. I’ve owned one, and other than mostly cosmetic issues, its been pretty reliable.
No matter what brand you buy, just do your due diligence and check it over as thoroughly as possible.
