Big news for Buc-ee’s fans.
Buc-ee’s is planning what would become the largest convenience store in the world, and it won’t be in Texas.
Plans call for a new location in Fort Pierce, Florida, at I-95 and Indrio Road. If approved and built as proposed, the store would measure 76,245 square feet, surpassing the current record holder in Luling, Texas, which stands at 75,593 square feet.
For context, it will be about the size of 1.3 football fields.
The Fort Pierce location is planned to include:
- 120 fuel pumps
- 18 electric vehicle charging stations
- More than 700 parking spaces
The site would serve traffic along one of Florida’s busiest highways and is expected to provide an economic boost to the area. Based on similar recent openings, the store could create up to 175 local jobs.
Project plans are still in the final approval stages, including confirmation from utility providers. If approved, construction could take close to two years, with a target opening in late 2027 or early 2028.
Florida currently has Buc-ee’s locations in Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, with another planned for Ocala. Texas holds the title for now, but that record may not last much longer.
