Dragonfly Energy Holdings Corp., the Nevada-based company behind Battle Born Batteries, has filed a trade libel lawsuit against YouTube creator and solar power commentator Will Prowse.
The lawsuit names William Errol Prowse IV, known online as Will Prowse, and Prowse Publications LLC as defendants. Dragonfly announced the case on June 2, 2026, and said it was filed in the Second Judicial District Court of the State of Nevada.
Dragonfly Energy alleges Prowse made false and misleading statements about Battle Born Batteries in monetized online content. The company says the statements misrepresented the design, safety, and performance of its lithium batteries.
Prowse is known for his “DIY Solar Power With Will Prowse” YouTube channel, where he reviews solar equipment, batteries, inverters, and off-grid power systems.
Dragonfly Says the Case Is About Alleged False Claims
In its announcement, Dragonfly said the lawsuit is not intended to stop good-faith product reviews or independent testing.
“This lawsuit is not about silencing criticism,” Wade Seaburg, Dragonfly Energy’s chief commercial officer, said in the company’s press release. “It is about accountability when what we believe are false and misleading safety claims are presented as technical fact and amplified through monetized content.”
According to Dragonfly, the complaint alleges that Prowse presented his videos as technical analysis while leaving out context, misrepresenting product design, and altering batteries before testing them.
The company also alleges that Prowse removed structural components and tested batteries that were already damaged or operated outside of their intended specifications. Dragonfly says those actions created what it believes was an inaccurate portrayal of Battle Born Batteries’ real-world safety and performance.
Those claims are allegations made by Dragonfly in its lawsuit. The court has not ruled on the claims.
Lawsuit Also Mentions Past Business Relationship
Dragonfly’s complaint also alleges that Prowse previously reviewed and praised the same Battle Born battery product he later criticized.
The company says Prowse received more than $200,000 from Dragonfly Energy in affiliate commissions, advertising fees, and related benefits tied to Battle Born-branded products over multiple years.
According to Dragonfly, Prowse later denied having a financial relationship with the company while presenting his content as independent technical analysis. Dragonfly also alleges the videos at issue were published after his affiliate and advertising arrangements with the company had ended.
Dragonfly further claims Prowse distributed the videos through monetized platforms that included affiliate links to competing products.
Those claims are also allegations from the complaint.
Dragonfly Points to Third-Party Testing and Field Use
Dragonfly says Battle Born Batteries are assembled in the United States and are designed with multiple layers of safety.
The company says relevant Battle Born product architecture has been ETL Listed by Intertek to UL 2054 and IEC 62133 standards. Dragonfly also says it has deployed more than 400,000 batteries across RV, marine, off-grid, industrial, and heavy-duty trucking applications.
Dragonfly says online videos are not a replacement for certified third-party testing, controlled product validation, or a complete understanding of lithium battery design and installation.
Prowse Responds Publicly
Prowse has publicly responded to the lawsuit on the DIY Solar Power Forum.
In one forum post, Prowse said he is “not really worried” and said he believes he can prove his claims in court. He also said he does not understand why the dispute needs to go to court.
In another post, Prowse continued to criticize the battery design and said he could show the issue by opening a battery in court.
Prowse’s statements represent his public response to the lawsuit. They do not establish that his claims are legally or technically correct.
Why RV Owners Are Watching the Case
Battle Born Batteries are widely known in the RV and off-grid power market, especially among RVers who use lithium batteries for boondocking, solar charging, and upgraded electrical systems.
The lawsuit comes during a broader public debate over product testing, influencer reviews, affiliate revenue, and how technical claims about RV power equipment are presented online.
At this stage, the case is based on Dragonfly Energy’s allegations and Prowse’s public response. No court decision has been issued on the truth of the disputed battery claims.

Many of the victims of Battle-Born batteries were sending Will the fried batteries.
Seems like it would be cheaper just to start tightening up all the connections in their batteries since every single one he opened up on camera had loose connections inside, the cause of the overheating batteries.
