Nude and clothing-optional camping may sound like a small niche, but RV travelers can find established resorts and campgrounds across much of the United States.

Some operate as traditional RV parks with full-hookup sites, bathhouses and organized activities. Others are private naturist clubs that welcome visiting campers after an advance registration process.

Policies can vary considerably from one property to another. A clothing-optional campground may allow guests to remain dressed throughout most of the resort, while a nudist club may expect nudity when weather and circumstances allow.

The following list includes 29 nude and clothing-optional RV parks, campgrounds and resorts across the country.

Shangri La Ranch

Guest Restrictions: The resort says it welcomes everyone interested in naturism. All visitors must follow the resort’s conduct guidelines.

Located north of Phoenix, Shangri La Ranch offers more than 110 camping spaces ranging from dry camping areas to full-hookup RV and travel-trailer sites. Both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service are available. Campers also have access to the resort’s showers, restrooms and recreational facilities. Because of Arizona’s summer temperatures, dry camping may not be offered during June, July and August.

California

Laguna del Sol

Guest Restrictions: Most first-time visitors must arrange a tour. Visitors with valid AANR or TNS membership and guests accompanied by a Laguna del Sol member may visit without the first-time tour. The resort also states that, as a general rule, nonmember couples visit together.

Laguna del Sol is a 250-acre clothing-optional resort near Sacramento with a large RV campground. Many of its RV sites overlook the property’s lake. Camping options include water-and-electric sites, full hookups and paved pull-through sites designed for longer RVs. Guests also have access to dump stations, bathhouses, laundromats, tent camping areas and resort facilities.

Glen Eden Sun Club

Nudity Policy: Glen Eden is a nudist club, not a general clothing-optional resort. Guests are encouraged to participate in social nudity, although covering up is accepted during cold weather or to limit sun exposure. No clothing is permitted in the pools or hot tub areas.

Glen Eden is a nudist resort and RV park on 154 acres between Los Angeles and San Diego. The campground has 52 full-hookup RV sites, dry camping areas, and rental trailers or park models. Amenities include swimming pools, hot tubs, a sauna, hiking areas, athletic courts and organized activities. Glen Eden identifies itself as a nudist club rather than a clothing-optional resort.

Colorado

Mountain Air Ranch

Visitors should contact the resort office before arriving to confirm camping arrangements and first-time guest requirements.

Connecticut

Solair Recreation League

Solair is a nudist resort and campground covering more than 360 acres in northeastern Connecticut. Overnight accommodations include RV and travel-trailer sites, tent platforms and cabins. The grounds feature a solar-heated swimming pool, swimming pond, sandy beach, hot tub, sauna, hiking trails and athletic courts. Visitor camping is generally available from late April through October.

Florida

Bare RV Resort

Guest Restrictions: All guests must be at least 21 years old. Visitors must present valid photo identification, sign a waiver, have a check-in photograph taken and undergo a background check. A day pass or annual membership is required for every guest.

Bare RV Resort is an adults-only clothing-optional campground in the Tampa Bay area. It offers standard and full-hookup RV sites, tent camping, and a heated swimming pool. Overnight campers must also purchase a day pass or annual membership to use the property.

Cypress Cove Nudist Resort

Camping rates generally include resort access for up to two adults.

Lake Como Nudist Resort

Lake Como is a long-established nudist resort on approximately 200 acres north of Tampa. Its campground has short-term and extended-stay RV spaces with water and electricity, including both 30-amp and 50-amp sites. Sewer hookups are available in the main RV area, while campers in some sections use the resort’s dump stations. First-time visitors should contact the office before arriving because screening and registration rules apply.

Eden RV Resort

Guests should also expect a background-screening process before their stay.

Sunnier Palms Nudist Park

RV and tent camping remains available throughout the summer. The park advises visitors to confirm current schedules with the office.

Sunnier Palms is a clothing-free cooperative community that welcomes RV campers, tent campers, day visitors, and resident members. Its location near Interstate 95 and Florida’s Turnpike makes it a possible stop for RV travelers heading along Florida’s Atlantic side. Reservations and visitor arrangements can be requested directly through the park.

Suwannee Valley Resort

Georgia

Hidden River Resort

Hidden River is an 88-acre naturist resort in southeastern Georgia near the Florida state line. Its campground has full-hookup RV sites with 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service, along with powered and primitive tent sites. Other facilities include a dump station, bathhouse, hot tub, covered pavilion, outdoor kitchen and fenced dog park.

Illinois

Blue Lake Resort

Nudity Policy: Blue Lake is not clothing-optional. Visitors and members are expected to be nude throughout their stay except during cold weather, because of sunburn or for a medical need.

Guest Restrictions: The campground conducts a background check for each visitor and asks guests to submit their full name and address several days before arrival.

Blue Lake is a seasonal nudist campground in northwestern Illinois. The property has 20 RV spaces with water and electrical hookups, plus a central dump station, showers, clubhouse and snack bar. Recreation centers around a chlorinated swimming pond with a sandy beach. Guests can also use volleyball courts, a whirlpool and other outdoor activity areas. The camping season normally runs from early May into early October.

Indiana

Sun Aura Resort

Clothing is optional across much of the property, but nudity is required in the swimming pools and hot tub. The resort accepts singles and couples age 21 and older.

Massachusetts

Sandy Terraces Associates

RV sites have water connections but no individual sewer hookups, so campers use a central dump station. Amenities include a heated saltwater pool, sauna, lakefront sun deck and several sports courts. Pets are not permitted.

Michigan

Northaven Resort

Reservations must be made by phone, and government-issued photo identification is required at entry.

Turtle Lake Resort

Minnesota

Two Creeks Clothing Optional Campground

Two Creeks occupies 100 secluded acres between two state forests in eastern Minnesota. Camping options include full-hookup RV sites, water-and-electric sites, primitive spaces, cabins and rental camping trailers. The campground can accommodate RVs and trailers up to approximately 40 feet and generally operates from May through mid-October.

North Carolina

Lucky Lovers Campground

Lucky Lovers is a private, 42-acre clothing-optional campground in New Bern. The property has full-hookup RV sites, including back-in and pull-through spaces with 30-amp or 50-amp service. Cabins, bungalows, tent spaces, and a bathhouse are also available.

Oklahoma

Oaklake Trails Naturist Park

Oregon

The Willamettans

The Willamettans is a member-owned clothing-optional club on 40 wooded acres outside Springfield. The campground has more than 100 RV sites, most of which offer full hookups. Tent sites and several rental accommodations are also available. Resort facilities include a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, hiking trails, café, bar, and dog park. First-time visitors need an appointment, and drivers of large RVs should follow the club’s recommended route to avoid narrow roads.

Pennsylvania

White Thorn Lodge

Texas

Sandpipers Nudist Resort

Nudity Policy: Sandpipers describes itself as a nudist resort rather than a clothing-optional resort. Its website specifically states that clothing is not permitted in the swimming pools or hot tub. Guests are also expected to use a towel when sitting or lying down while nude. Cameras are not allowed in public areas without management approval.

Guest Restrictions: Stays must be booked and paid in advance. The resort’s public policies prohibit overt sexual contact in public and require guests to follow its privacy and conduct rules. Its website does not publish a couples-only restriction.

Wildwood Naturist’s Resort

Lake Bronson is a nudist club on approximately 320 wooded acres in the Cascade foothills northeast of Seattle. Its RV park has 24 pull-through spaces with water and 20-amp, 30-amp or 50-amp electrical service. A dump station is located nearby. The property also has a spring-fed lake, beach, hiking trails, and an 85-foot waterfall. Lake Bronson is a nudist club rather than a clothing-optional campground, so guests are generally expected to be nude when weather and conditions allow. Visitors receive private driving directions and gate information after contacting the club.

West Virginia

Avalon Resort

Wisconsin

Freedom Valley is a clothing-optional campground for adults age 21 and older. The campground identifies itself as LGBTQIA-friendly and offers full-hookup RV sites, water-and-electric sites, tent camping and cabin rentals. It is located in western Wisconsin near the Minnesota border. Every guest must have a reservation before arriving.

Camp NCN

Some themed weekends have additional attendance restrictions, so visitors should check the event details before booking. Photography and video are prohibited in the campground.

Camp NCN is a clothing-optional campground on more than 52 acres in west-central Wisconsin. It offers more than 100 electric campsites, including full-hookup and pull-through options, along with primitive camping and cabin accommodations. Campground amenities include bathhouses with showers, a three-acre pond and sandy beach, pickleball courts, walking trails, and a large indoor pavilion. The campground can accommodate RVs up to 42 feet long.

What to Know Before Visiting a Nude or Clothing-Optional Campground

Nude RV parks do not all follow the same rules. A policy that applies at one resort may be completely different at another.

Review the following details before making a reservation:

• Nudity policy: Confirm if the property is fully nudist, clothing-optional or nude only in designated areas.
• Age limits: Some campgrounds are restricted to guests age 18 or 21 and older.
• Guest restrictions: A few resorts accept couples only or have special visitor requirements.

Nudist Campgrounds vs. Clothing-Optional Campgrounds

The terms are sometimes used interchangeably, but they can describe different policies.

At a clothing-optional campground, guests can generally decide how much clothing they want to wear. Certain areas, such as pools or hot tubs, may still require nudity.

A nudist campground may expect guests to participate in social nudity when weather and health conditions allow. Clothing is generally permitted when needed for weather, cooking, work or personal comfort.

Rules involving photography, phones and guest privacy are normally strict at both types of properties. Taking photos of other guests without permission is typically prohibited.

Plan Ahead Before Arriving

Many nude and clothing-optional RV resorts operate more like private clubs than conventional commercial campgrounds. Calling ahead is often required, even when campsites appear to be available online.

Policies, prices, and ownership can change. Contact the campground directly before traveling to verify its current rules, reservation process, hookups and visitor restrictions.
