Nestled on the banks of Mackay Reservoir, Joe T. Fallini Recreation Site delivers epic views of the Lost River Range. The campground is uniquely scenic, situated between the Lost River Range to the east and the Knob Mountains to the west. Enjoy water activities like boating, jet skiing, and sailing, or try your luck fishing in summer and ice fishing in winter. There's also abundant wildlife viewing and stargazing opportunities.

 

**Fun Fact:** This is the only recreational site in the Challis Field Office offering full RV hookups.

Cottonwood Point offers shaded, spacious campsites along the shores of Marion Reservoir, a popular destination featuring a sparkling lake and rich forests. Activities here range from boating and fishing to hiking and wildlife spotting. Anglers can expect excellent catches of channel catfish, walleye, and white bass. Wildlife lovers will appreciate the Willow Walk Nature Trail for spotting pelicans, raccoons, and deer.

High View Park sits on the north shore of Bardwell Lake, about an hour south of Dallas. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this campground offers shaded sites with water and electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings. The park includes a boat ramp, swim beach, and playground, with restrooms and showers available on-site.

 

Lake access is excellent, and most campsites offer at least partial views of the water. The atmosphere stays peaceful through the week, and anglers will find the lake well stocked with crappie, bass, and catfish.

Facilities include restrooms, showers, and a boat ramp with easy lake access. The park has mature trees for shade and open grassy areas for recreation. Because of its size, it often feels less crowded than other Bardwell Lake campgrounds, and sunrise views over the water are a highlight for early risers.

Horseshoe Bend Park sits along the Saline River just below Dierks Dam. The area features a whitewater paddling course that spans three-quarters of a mile, with several engineered drops that create Class II–IV rapids when the spillway is open. The site hosted Olympic trials in the late 1990s and remains a top training spot for paddlers.

 

Twelve riverfront campsites with water and electric hookups are available, along with a pavilion, restrooms, showers, and a playground. The campground rests at the base of a 300-foot cliff, offering breathtaking views of the wooded hillsides that frame the river.
