# Grand Design RV Issues Safety Recall for Fifth Wheel Trailers Over Axle Concern

Grand Design RV, LLC has announced a safety recall affecting certain 2021–2024 Momentum and 2022–2024 Solitude fifth wheel trailers. The recall was posted on January 26, 2026, and covers up to 7,585 vehicles. It is listed as NHTSA Campaign Number **[26V044](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=26V044000)** and carries the manufacturer's recall number **910054**.

 

The issue involves the U-bolts that secure the trailer axle to the suspension. On some units, these U-bolts may lose tension or were not tightened correctly during assembly, which can allow the axle to shift out of its proper position. An axle that moves out of place can reduce vehicle stability and increase the likelihood of loss of control while towing.

 

At this time, the exact cause of the loose U-bolt condition is still under investigation. Grand Design has not yet finalized a repair procedure. Interim letters that describe the safety concern will be mailed to owners starting March 11, 2026. A second notice with instructions on corrective action will be sent once the remedy is ready.
