The camping world near me starts at $6.99 per foot to wash your RV for you. It could get pretty pricey though if you have a large RV or start upgrading the wash package.
::Use a 15A male to 30A female adapter like this: https://www.amazon.com/Leisure-Cords-Generator-Electrical-Converter/dp/B07QY57SNH/ref=sr_1_5
Just don’t overload it by drawing too much power at once. I believe its only 1800 watts you can run through a 15a outlet. So, depending on the power draw of your appliances, running the fridge and AC at the same time, for example, might overload it.
::Passport America is great if you can find places along your route, which typically isn’t hard. It’s more htan paid for itself for us. But just because it says 50% off doesn’t mean you’ll always get 50% off. Learned that the hard way. Sometimes you’ll only get it during certain seasons, or only during week days, and so on. Still more than worth it to me.
::Here’s the thing, any new travel trailer brand will have its issues. IMO, buying a few years old is perfect in your case as hopefully most of the “kinks” will be worked out and the initial massive drop in value that hits in the first 1-2 years has already happened.
As far as Jayco specifically, they are a good brand for those new to RV’ing. They have a solid warranty for those buying brand new and are affordable. I’ve owned one, and other than mostly cosmetic issues, its been pretty reliable.
No matter what brand you buy, just do your due diligence and check it over as thoroughly as possible.
::I have the Caframo space heater: https://www.caframobrands.com/9206cabbx.html. The way its designed it can’t be tipped over. It has adjustable thermostat, overheat protection, all that good stuff. I’ve had it for five years and would buy it again if it stopped working tomorrow.
And unlike most products, it’s not made in China.
::I’d personally go with an inverter over standard generator. But, as mentioned above, the Champion runs pretty clean and isn’t too loud for a standard generator. Still any of the inverter brands – Honda, Westinghouse, etc., – powered to your needs will be more efficient, quieter, and in many cases lighter than a standard generator.
::Interesting, but I’ll pass for now. A lot of new tech that’ll be expensive to fix. If it’s built as well as your typical RV it’ll be a maintenance nightmare. Hopefully they can set a new standard in quality and prove me wrong.
::If you have a family member willing to do it, you could always just use their address as a domecile address and forward your mail there. They could either hold onto it for you to pick up whenever or just throw away any obvious junk and forward the rest. It’s a little bit of work so you’d want to make it worth their time.
