I always fill it up before leaving, but I would say it depends on the camper. Should all campers be able to handle the weight and not affect driving, sure, but let’s be honest, campers aren’t known for their excellent build quality. If you’re worried about it, I would first check the owner’s manual and even contact the manufacturer to see if they recommend it. You could also do a test run. Fill it up and drive it around your town to see if it affects driving or if there are any issues. We can all share our anecdotal experiences, but each camper is different.
